After playing the rare Bond Girl to break 007's heart, actress Eva Green now turns to the future with sci-fi drama Womb.
The sultry French actress will portray a widow who misses her late husband so much she decides to clone him. The dead man walking is portrayed by Matt Smith, the actor who will be replacing David Tennant in the BBC's venerable sci-fi series Doctor Who.
Green turned heads in 2003 with her racy French-language love story, The Dreamers, followed by a part as Orlando Bloom's love interest in the 2005 Ridley Scott epic, Kingdom of Heaven.
But her international profile peaked three years ago when Green took on the role of seductive agent Vesper in *Casino Royale *opposite Daniel Craig's energized James Bond.
Named the spy franchise's No. 1 Bond Girl by U.K. paper The Times, Green did not appear in last summer's 007 sequel, Quantum of Solace, although her character's presence was felt throughout: Bond spent much of the movie pining over Vesper.
Filming will begin on Womb, Hungarian director Benedek Fliegauf's first English-language film, next month on the North Sea coast, *Variety *reports.
